2026 Buyer's Guide / Massachusetts
Best Dental IT Support in Boston and Massachusetts (2026)
A guide to dental IT support in Boston, MetroWest and across Massachusetts for single offices and multi-office groups of 26-50 staff: eight providers described fairly from their own websites, the state rules, and what support costs.
Why choosing an IT partner for a Massachusetts dental practice is different
Massachusetts adds a data-security rule on top of HIPAA. Our dental IT support page covers the daily work.
The bar is higher
Every operatory relies on a sensor, an imaging workstation and the practice-management system, so one failed update can stop a chair. Payments belong apart from clinical systems, and a second office should share the first one's network, sign-ins and backups.
Full transparency
This guide is published by Atlantic Computer Systems, and we put ourselves at the top because healthcare IT is our focus. We describe every other provider fairly from public information. If another firm here fits your practice better, we would rather you find the right partner. Verify services, coverage, and pricing directly before you sign.

Which kind of provider fits which practice
Start from the shape of your practice.
One standard across every office
Require one network, sign-in and backup design for every site, a named account manager, a written HIPAA and 201 CMR 17.00 plan, and published per-endpoint pricing. ACS is one example built this way.
Imaging know-how and a clear onsite plan
Look for imaging and practice-software know-how and a clear way to book onsite visits for hardware swaps. Ask who covers your evening sessions.
Co-managed support around your team
A co-managed arrangement keeps that person and adds security tools, monitoring and compliance paperwork. See how co-managed IT splits the work.
How to choose: the questions that matter
Ask each shortlisted provider these seven questions in writing (wider checklist: how to choose an IT company for a medical practice).
- Will you sign a Business Associate Agreement before touching patient data? Right answer: yes, in writing and before onboarding, as 45 CFR 164.308(b)(1) expects.
- Will you document a HIPAA risk analysis and keep our 201 CMR 17.00 program current? Right answer: yes; a HIPAA risk assessment is required under 45 CFR 164.308(a)(1)(ii)(A), and the state program is reviewed at least annually.
- Which imaging and practice-management systems do you support today? Right answer: named systems, and how they work with the vendor when an imaging bridge breaks (see EHR and practice software support).
- What happens when a system fails mid-clinic or during an evening session? Right answer: a written escalation path, a remote fix first, onsite when hardware must change.
- How do you keep several offices on one standard? Right answer: one documented network, sign-in and backup design.
- Who owns the admin accounts, the domain and the backups? Right answer: your practice does.
- Is the price written, per endpoint and published? Right answer: a plan name and a per-endpoint number.
What dental IT support in Boston and Massachusetts costs
ACS publishes its prices per endpoint per month: Core IT is $110, Proactive IT is $175 and Complete IT is $295, and each plan includes everything in the one before it.
Worked example (arithmetic on the list prices, not a quote): a two-office dental group with 30 computers on Proactive IT: $5,250 a month at $175 per endpoint.
Licenses, hardware, projects, migrations and onsite visits are billed separately; a Solution Architect confirms the exact price. The dental IT support plans page shows what each plan includes.

Dental IT in Massachusetts: frequently asked questions
Which IT companies support dental practices in Boston and across Massachusetts?
This guide lists eight: Atlantic Computer Systems, Boston Networks, Braver Technology Solutions, Triton Technologies, Radius IT, Power Up Boston, CMIT Solutions and Siotek. ACS publishes the guide and lists itself first; confirm BAAs, onsite visits and pricing with each.
What does 201 CMR 17.00 require from a Massachusetts dental practice?
A written information security program, sized to the practice and reviewed at least annually, whenever you hold residents' names with Social Security, driver's license, or financial account or card numbers. Where technically feasible it requires secure sign-ins, encryption on laptops and over public or wireless networks, patches, malware protection and staff training.
How much does dental IT support cost in Massachusetts?
On ACS's published plans, Core IT runs $110, Proactive IT $175 and Complete IT $295 per endpoint per month. Worked example (arithmetic on the list prices, not a quote): a 40-computer dental group on Complete IT: $11,800 a month at $295 per endpoint. See per-endpoint pricing for each plan.
Does our IT company need to be in Massachusetts, or can support be remote?
No, support can be remote; what matters is how onsite visits are scheduled. Headquartered in San Jose, we support practices across the Bay Area and serve Greater Boston, New England and Houston remotely, with onsite work as needed. See healthcare IT for Boston practices.
What should a MetroWest or Worcester-area dental group ask an IT provider?
Ask how a new office joins the same network standard, who schedules onsite work, and who covers evening sessions. For ACS: After-hours emergency support is available. See our Worcester healthcare IT page.
Who must a Massachusetts dental office notify after a data breach?
Under M.G.L. c. 93H, section 3, a practice that owns or licenses the affected personal information notifies the Attorney General, the Director of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and affected residents as soon as practicable and without unreasonable delay. HIPAA separately requires notice to patients, no later than 60 calendar days after discovery, and to HHS (45 CFR 164.404 and 164.408).
Can one IT company support dental offices in Massachusetts and other New England states?
Yes, on one set of standards, with each state's breach rules handled alongside HIPAA. Every practice gets a named Technical Account Manager. Smaller practices share a specialist pod that looks after a handful of clients; larger groups get a dedicated pod. See managed IT in Massachusetts.
